The customer is a manufacturer of metal products in Singapore, specializing in sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, bending, welding, and assembly. The customer has a large workshop with multiple production lines and needs to transport heavy metal parts and materials efficiently and safely.
The customer's fabrication shop needed a reliable lifting solution to improve the efficiency of daily material handling and maintenance. The purpose is to assist a machining center in metal machining as well as die changing.
The shop frequently handles steel plates, structural sections, and welded components that weigh up to nearly 3 tons. These materials must be moved from storage areas to cutting machines or machining centers quickly and safely. A floor-mounted jib crane allows you to lift and position materials with ease, reducing the need for forklifts or manual handling. It helps improve workflow efficiency and minimizes the risk of damage to materials during transport.
During welding operations, large metal parts often need to be repositioned or flipped several times. This requires stable and precise lifting to ensure consistent weld quality. The jib crane provides smooth rotation and accurate positioning, so you can control the workpiece without unwanted swinging. This makes welding tasks easier to manage and helps workers maintain better control, which directly supports higher-quality finished products.
Machining centers and bending machines require regular mold changes and maintenance work. These tasks involve lifting heavy and sometimes delicate components in tight spaces. A floor-mounted jib crane is well suited for this because its column is installed independently on the ground, without relying on the building's structure. This enables customers to carry out flexible lifting work and ensures stable lifting performance during maintenance operations.
In this project, the customer needed a lifting solution that could work safely inside an older workshop with limited space and complex equipment layout. Traditional overhead cranes were not suitable due to structural limits and tight working conditions. At the same time, the daily handling tasks required both flexibility and high positioning accuracy. These factors made the selection of the right crane especially important, as it had to balance installation feasibility, ease of operation, and precise control in a confined environment.
The customer’s workshop is an older industrial building with limited ceiling height and a roof structure that cannot safely support the rail loads of a traditional overhead crane. This makes it difficult to install runway beams or additional steel structures without major reconstruction. A floor-mounted jib crane solves this problem by working independently of the building structure. It only requires a solid concrete foundation, which is commonly available in most workshops. The customer was able to quickly install this crane without having to alter the existing building.
The metal processing workshop is filled with cutting machines, bending machines, welding robots and other equipment, with narrow passageways. In this layout, it is difficult and unsafe to use large cranes or forklifts to move materials. Column jib cranes have a small footprint, with only the base fixed to the ground. Its swivel arm covers a wide working area and can rotate over 300°, enabling it to easily bypass obstacles. This makes it easier to transfer materials directly between machines, increasing efficiency and reducing the need for manual handling in tight spaces.
Metal workpieces often need to be placed very precisely onto machine tables, such as T-slots or locating pins. Even small positioning errors can affect production quality or damage equipment. Standard cranes may swing during lifting, making precise placement harder to control.

We recommended our 3-ton floor-mounted jib crane to the customer, based on their requirements and workshop layout. The crane has a lifting capacity of 3 tons, a working radius of 6 meters, a lifting height of 3 meters, and a hoisting speed of 8 m/min. The crane is equipped with a high-quality electric chain hoist, which has a smooth and precise lifting and lowering operation. The crane also has a slewing mechanism, which allows the jib arm to rotate 360 degrees freely. The crane is controlled by a pendant or remote control, which is easy and convenient to use. Our floor-mounted jib crane is a kind of light-duty lifting equipment, which can be used for loading and unloading materials in workshops, warehouses, docks, assembly lines, etc. The crane consists of a vertical column, a horizontal jib arm, an electric chain hoist, and a slewing mechanism. The column is fixed on the concrete floor by anchor bolts, which ensures the stability and safety of the crane. The jib arm is made of high-strength steel, which has a strong bearing capacity and durability. The electric chain hoist is mounted on the jib arm by a trolley, which can move along the jib arm horizontally.
The customer installed the crane according to our instruction manual and video without any difficulty. They tested the crane's performance and found it satisfactory. They said they were very happy with our product quality, service, and price. They said they would recommend our company to their friends and partners who need cranes.
